Ed Green

Ed Green

Managing Director, Chartered Financial Planner

I have been a financial planner for over 25 years. Prior to setting up Gordian Wealth Management Ltd, I was Financial Planning Director for Close Brothers Asset Management.

I am a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society and both a Chartered and Certified Financial Planner.

My focus is to help my clients live the life they want, first and foremost, and provide them with the confidence that their assets will support this. To do this, I need to have a deep understanding of their motivations, their family, as well as their financial circumstances and experience. Technology plays a part in the planning process, through tools such as cashflow modelling software, but relationship and ongoing communication are key. Many of my clients I have looked after over 10 years, and in some cases over 20.

My clients are primarily those that have already accumulated wealth, whether via a professional career, from their own business, an inheritance or some other form of capital event. My role, typically alongside other professionals, is to help formulate a strategy which delivers on their requirements in the most efficient manner possible. Ongoing service is fundamental to being able to achieve objectives as well as adapting the plan to life changes and constantly changing legislation. Accordingly, I meet clients at least annually and usually have a number of touch points in between. I keep the number of clients I work with at a low level in order to be able to maintain high quality relationships and service.

Once a strategy is agreed, I can independently research and advise on the most appropriate investment strategies/ plans available in the market and, with the additional support of Vision Independent Financial Planning Ltd, access some of the best possible terms.

Outside of work, I have 2 teenage children and my wife, Alison, who is also involved in the business. My spare time is quite often spent out on the bike, running (with or without the dog!) or competing in triathlon.

Office Manager

With over 25 years of experience in administrative and managerial roles within the Financial Services sector, I joined Gordian Wealth Management on January 23, 2024. Prior to this, I served as Ed’s Personal Assistant for approximately 7 years at Close Brothers Asset Management.

My primary objective is to support Ed in delivering exceptional service to his clients, ensuring they receive the attention and time they require. I also act as a key point of contact for clients when Ed is with clients or travelling. My time is split between the office and working from home, allowing me to manage these responsibilities efficiently.

In my personal time, I am dedicated to environmental conservation. I actively participate in litter picking and collaborate with Bristol Waste to maintain the cleanliness of Bristol’s streets, combating litter and fly-tipping. This commitment stems from my deep appreciation for nature and the environment.

Paraplanner

I have over 20 years of experience working as a Paraplanner in Financial Services and joined Gordian Wealth Management in 2025, having worked previously with Ed and Lisa at Close Brothers Asset Management. My focus as a Paraplanner is to provide the detailed research, analysis and report writing that underpin the financial advice our clients receive. My priority is ensuring that all advice is accurate, compliant, and clearly presented for our clients.

Outside of work, I have a husband and two children who keep me busy. I love exploring new travel destinations, experiencing different cultures, and spending quality time with my family. When I get a quiet moment, I enjoy relaxing with a good book.
